If you would like me to review your book on my blog, or if you would like me to host a book giveaway, please read my review guidelines and complete the review request form below, or email me at jennsbookshelf@gmail.com
Do I respond to pitch emails? I only respond to pitches if I plan on accepting that title for review consideration. I typically respond within one week.
Books I Review: I review most fiction, but have a fondness for suspense/thriller and horror.
Books I Do Not Review: Self-published (books published by the author rather than by an established third-party), self-help.
Unsolicited Books: Due to the overwhelming number of review requests I receive, I cannot guarantee reviews of unsolicited books.
Review Schedule: I do not review every title I read. For me, that can take the fun out of reading. Rather, I review those titles that stand out. With the sheer number of books I read, that may mean I review a few titles a week or perhaps just one review in a two-week span. I don’t hold myself to rigorous review mandates, instead enjoying the titles as I read them.
Review Timeline: I typically post a review for a book in the month that it is published. In order to guarantee this, books must be received no later than a month prior to publication date.
Honesty in Reviewing: I cannot promise a positive review, but my reviews are always honest. I do disclose the source of review books. Review books received from authors, publicists, or publishers are provided to me free of charge in exchange for my review. This free product in no way influences my review.
Compensation: I do not receive compensation for reviewing books. I do belong to Powell’s affiliate program. Any money earned from this affiliate program go directly into maintaining my blog (hosting fees, shipping costs for giveaways).
Book Formats: I do accept e-books in PDF and epub format.
What do I do with ARCs once I have finished reading them? I do not sell the ARCs that are given to me for review, but occasionally will host a giveaway for the ARC. Additionally, I donate books (after book has been published) to various shelters in my area.
